Colorado, USA (UPI) - In a maximum security prison in this state, the head of the guerrilla FARC, alias Ricardo Palmera "Simon Trinidad", was presented in court amid tight security. Handcuffed hands, and with an electric shock device, the guerrilla said via satellite to a judge in Colombia, which investigates the kidnapping of former Congressman Eduardo Gechem Turbay.
The FARC guerrilla, "Simon Trinidad", was taken to a makeshift courtroom where he remained for seven hours.
The defense attorney asked to remove their chains to develop the trial. "Simon Trinidad" did not accept the charge of kidnapping. Ricardo Palmera
pleaded not guilty and asked Attorney a penalty of 40 years in prison as the author of the abduction.
